Seeking an independent, compassionate Vet Assistant to join our team!
About our Hospital:
Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group enjoys a 50-year legacy of service to our community and the surrounding areas. Our modern, 11,000 square foot main facility houses an onsite CT scan, ultrasound suite, dental suite, endoscopy, underwater treadmill, separate specialty and general practice surgery suites, multiple patient wards including separate cat ward, ICU, doctor offices, radiology suite, spacious treatment room and a large, welcoming reception area. We have a class IV laser unit and a digital thermal imaging unit. Our second facility in nearby Beacon is utilized for outpatient care and boarding. In addition to our team of 7 general practitioners...and skilled support staff, we offer Specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Cardiology and Exotics. The area also boasts access to Oncology, Neurology, Behavioral and Ophthalmology services for your patients. The Hudson Valley has something to offer everyone…local hiking, wineries, historic sites, rock climbing, wonderful restaurants (think Culinary Institute!), watersports on the Hudson and easy access to New York City amenities to the south as well as the Adirondack mountains and Lake George to the north. Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant. A willingness to work Saturdays until 4:30pm is needed.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians.
- Handling and restraining pets for exams and procedures.
- Assist in the taking of x-rays
- Monitor and collect urine and fecal samples as needed
- Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded pets
- Responsible for cleaning/maintenance of hospital.
- Care of hospitalized/boarded pets as needed
- Fecal parasite sample collection and preparation
- Preparation of a prescription drug, other than a controlled substance, for dispensing
- Surgical assistance to a licensed veterinarian
